What is WarioWare?

WarioWare is a game series created by Nintendo and published by Intellegent Systems. The main plot for most of the games is Wario wanting to create gomes to make money, and "hiring" people to make them. The gameplay is playing very quick minigames that rarely take over 10 seconds (Labeled "Microgames") in quick sucsession and in a short amout of time. What makes this game unique is the idea of playing microgame after microgame really gives the player a surprise because they are tasked with figuring out what type of microgame it is and how to approach it in a short amout of time. The other installment of the game make it even more unique with each one having a different playstyle than eachother.

WarioWare: Mega Microgame$

Warioware: Mega Microgame$ is the first ever installment of WarioWare released on the Gameboy Advance in 2003. The plot s that Wario wants to make games to earn money, but doesnt know how to. So he calls his friends to help him. This game sets a very basic precident for every other WarioWare game in the franchise. Each Level has a different theme and character accociated with it, Theres a feature that lets you play any individual Microgame you want, and a bunch of post-game content. These are things nearly every WarioWare game has or atleast tries to have. The game isnt that advanced but it sets a standard for future WarioWare games ahead.

WarioWare: Mega Party Games!

Warioware: Mega Party Games is the first of many WarioWare games to not exactly follow the WarioWare formula. Released on the Gamecube in 2003, this game is a collection of party games that can be played with up to 4 people. These party games utilize the microgames from Warioware Mega Microgame$ into them in very creative ways. There isnt much to talk about for this game, but its really neat that Nintendo decided to twist the formula of the original game in a fun and enjoyable way.

WarioWare: Twisted!

WarioWare: Twisted is one of the only three Gameboy Advance games to have a gyro sensor attached onto it. The other 2 being Koro Koro Puzzle - Happy Penechu and Yoshi Topsy-Turvy. This game utilizes the gyro sensor to have the player need to turn the console left and right to play most of the microgames. Being released in 2004, this game was revolutionary for the time because of its gyro controls since they werent common at all during that time period. This game also sets a standard for future WarioWare games by intoducing a new way to control the Microgames, which every future warioware game has.

WarioWare: Touched!

WarioWare: Touched is a game released for the Nintendo DS that aims to utilize the touch controls of the DS similar to how they utilized the gyro controls for WarioWare Twisted. Being released in 2004, Touch controls were a fairly new thing at the time, so it makes sense why this game is remembered as one of the classic WarioWare Games. It also intoduced Ashley to the series, who would become one of the most recognizable WarioWare characters of the games history. Overall, this game is remembered as a classic WarioWare game and for good reason.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Warioware: Smooth Moves is considered to be one of the best WarioWare games of the franchise. Released for the Wii in 2006, the game has the player using the Wii Remote's motion controls to control the Microgames, and for being one of the first ever Wii releases, it does that extremely well. The game also has a different Plot, that being Wario finding an ancient artifact called the Form Baton, resembling a Wii Remote, and keeping it as a treasure. This game also introduces two characters who would become prominent in the franchise, those being Young Cricket and Penny. Overall, this game is an extremely good game in general for the Wii's library, and was a really good jump between Warioware Twisted and Touched.

WarioWare: Snapped!

WarioWare: Snapped unlike Smooth Moves, is considered to be the worst WarioWare game in the franchise. Released in 2008 for DSi Ware, it tries to use the camera to make the player have to move to control the microgames. But since the camera on the DSi was very limited, it ussualy didnt work.Even when it did work, there was only 4 levels, each with 8 microgames. For such a primative and short this game is, it is understandable why people consider it to be the absolute worst.

WarioWare: Do It Yourself!

WarioWare: Do It Yourself is considered to be the game that started a WarioWare Community. Released in 2009 for the DS, This game allows the player to create their own microgames from the ground up.It has very presise system that does alot that allows people the creation of their own microgames, including a Music Maker, a Sprite Editor, and an animation editor. What is even better is that players from all around the world can share their microgames to shown to other people and even have a chance to appear on the front page, effectivley turning WarioWare into a social media platform. Overall, WarioWare Do It Yourself is the game that sort of spawned the community around WarioWare and it is highly praised for that reason.

WarioWare Gold

WarioWare Gold is widely agreed to be the best WarioWare game the franchise has to offer. Releasing in 2018 for the Nintendo 3DS, the game tries to take from the original WarioWare Mega Microgames, WarioWare Twisted, and WarioWare Touched and mix them all into a mega compilation of the three playstyles. Most levels require only one playstyle, but some include every playstyle mized into one. Taking games from the preveous installments, this game has over 300 microgames, which is the most ever for the series. This game also has the most post game content of any WarioWare game, including a local multiplayer mode. It also introduces a new artsyle that will stay for every Warioware game moving forward. Overall, this game contains the most content of any WarioWare game and is the most advanced one to date.

WarioWare: Get it Together

WaerioWare: Get it Together is the latest WarioWare game as of 2022. Released for the Nintendo Switch in 2021, the game introduces characters that control and influence the Microgames, adding a bunch of variety in every Microgame. Every character does things differently and approach Microgames in a diffrent way. There is also alot of post game content, including a multiplayer mode with 2 playeres, multiple party games with up to 4 players, a a weekly challenge to see which player can complete it in the least amount of time, or the most amount of points. Overall this game makes a bold change to the structure of regular WarioWare Games.
